Course objectives
As the outcome of the course, students submit the published text of a critical review (review of a monograph, edited volume or a monothematic issue of a journal) on which they worked under the supervision of their tutor or other experts in the field. The course has to be enrolled in the semestr following after the publication of the review. The choice of the reviewed publication as well as the journal to which the review is submitted must be discussed with a supervisor in advance. The reviewed publication has to be connected to the project of a dissertation research of the student – either thematically or theoretically and methodologically. The review must be published in a journal which is for the given year listed at least in one of the following databases/lists: Web of Science, SCOPUS, ERIH or the list of the Czech peer-reviewed journals. Besides, the reviews published in the student religious studies journal “Sacra” are accepted as well.

    Teaching methods
Individual work on the text of the review and consultations with the supervisor.
    Assessment methods
Students submit the already published text of the review to the home vaults in the Information system MU. For the assessment, the nature of the journal in which the review has been published is decisive: the journal has to be indexed in the Web of Science or SCOPUS or listed in ERIH or in the official list of the Czech peer-reviewed unimpacted periodicals (Seznam recenzovaných neimpaktovaných periodik vydávaných v České republice); the publication in the student religious studies journal "Sacra" is also accepted (100 %). Another condition for passing the course is to create a publication record through the Publication application in the IS MU (type “r Review”) and to fill in correctly all information necessary for submitting the record to the RIV database.
