Course objectives
Concuring course, where students are deepening their analytic skills gained previous semester. They are also working on reconstructions of historic theatre performances.

The course is inteded for second year students of DTS and it is mandatory for them.
The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the course student will be able to:
- analyse contemporary theatre performances of all genres;
- reconstruct and analyse historical theatre performances;
- compare different directors' approaches in diverse theatre performances.

  • "Peformance analysis" in context of theatre studies
  • Analytical methods for contemporary theatre (from modernistic theatre to post-dramatic)
  • Seminar discussion about chosen actual performances
  • Possibilities of reconstructing historical performance
  • Reconstruction of performance in Czech context
  • Critical evaluation of already published reconstructions
  • Methods of reconstruction (archival work)
  • Presentation of assigned reconstructions
