Prerequisites
The course is intended for students of master degree studies. Basic knowledge on history of European art in the 17th and 18th century and passive command of German is presupposed.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course introduces selected specific approaches to the study of early modern particularly sacral interior and provides overview of possibilities of its interpretation.
Learning outcomes
After finishing the course student should be able to:
Describe and interpret a specific selected early modern sacral interior;
Show a basic knowledge of the topographic and iconographic literature;
Provide and describe results of his study in the coherent presentation.
Syllabus
  • Particular sacral interior – examination of its art decoration, art historical describing, the literature concerning the chosen sacral building.
  • Topographic literature.
  • Iconography and iconology.
  • Liturgy, religious confraternities.
