Course objectives
This seminar is focused on different topics from the Czech literature, connected only by one thing: animals. The aim is to show different methods and approaches to one motive (or group of motives), to show the chosen pieces of literary works in a new light and get to compare both the said books, and methods.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to:


- compare the chosen literary works and animal motives in them;


- understand the chosen literary works in the wider socio-cultural context;


- understand and use the chosen methods and approaches;


- interpret animal motives in literary works.

Teaching methods
Lectures, group work, class discussion, reading.
Assessment methods
To pass the seminar, students have to be active and present (no more than three missed lessons), they have to read and get ready for every lesson, write learning diary (will be specified during the first lesson) and have to be present at the final colloquium.
