Course objectives
The aim of this course is to familiarise students with contemporary literary analysis and cultural studies by putting them to work on texts. Those theoretical frameworks whose texts are not read will be explained in class during the seminars. The texts will also be selected at the beginning of the semester.
Learning outcomes
Reading skills are substantially increased, written expression (presentation, examination), oral expression (presentation), capacity for discussion and argumentation are also increased. Student is also trained in the ability to analyze and comment on texts. Vocabulary is improved.

Conference. Seminar. Comment of texts, presentations. Compulsory reading
Assessment methods
Attendance is not compulsory but recommended. Participation in class, seminars and readings counts towards the final grade (at 30 %) at the teacher's discretion. The final grade results from the presentation (35 %) and a written exam on the course contents (35 %). A pass mark (D/E) of 60 % is required.
