Course objectives
The course is designed as a set of in-depth studies in the direction of the thesis and is therefore intended for students enrolled in the 5th semester and who have already chosen their thesis topic or at least the field (literary or linguistic). The course is divided into two segments. The first segment is common and consists of an academic writing course. The second is more directly oriented towards theoretical-methodological preparation for the thesis and is to be chosen from the following: - Linguistic landscapes (self-study: https://www.uni-potsdam.de/de/educ/fuer-studierende/linguistic-landscapes + attendance of seminars held by guest scholars - Learning Italian as a second language: fieldwork (data collection among undergraduate or postgraduate students) (self-study, material to be agreed, data collection + attendance of seminars held by guest scholars) - Problems of Italian morphosyntax (self-study, materials to be agreed upon + attendance of seminars held by guest scholars) - Migrant writings: Italian and other languages in the digital writings of young immigrants in Italy (self-study, materials to be be agreed upon, data collection and classification + attendance of seminars held by guest scholars) - Literary Geography: the Representation of Space in the Italian Novel (self-study, materials to be agreed upon + attendance of seminars held by guest scholars) - Work and literature: the theme of work in the Italian novel (for self-study, (self-study, material to be agreed + attendance of guest lectures) - Metrics and Rhetoric: Analysis of Contemporary Italian Poetry (for self-study, material to be agreed upon + attendance of guest lectures) - punctuation issues ((for self-study, (self-study, material to be agreed + attendance of guest lectures)

Morphosyntax problems. Issues of contemporary literature. Issues of metrics and rhetoric. Issues about punctuation and syntax.
