V semináři pracujeme s literárními texty, které jsou přeložené do češtiny/slovenštiny, proto jsou vítáni i studenti jiných programů a specializací.

Course objectives
The course introduces students to the literary phenomenon of Polish reportage, focusing consistently on texts reflecting the space of post-communist countries in Central, Eastern and South-East Europe and the changes taking place there over the last thirty years. Special attention will be paid to the problem of space in the literary work.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- explain theoretical background of genres reportage, travelogue and selected types of novel,
- use the concepts and procedures of geopoetics and imagology,
- to classify selected authors of reportages (in the context of contemporary Polish literature),
- describe common and different features in the representation of space in the analyzed texts,
- think critically about the texts.

Teaching methods
In-class discussion and acitivities, compulsory home reading of selected texts (in Polish or in Czech/Slovak translation).
Assessment methods
Student will gain a credit for regular attendance (min. 75%), home reading and submission of homework assignments on time.
