Course objectives
The development of the Greek language from Hellenistic koine to the establishment of Demotic Greek as the official language (1976); reading texts (papyruses, the New Testament, selections from Byzantine chronicles, hagiography and novels, literature from Crete and Cyprus and early Modern Greek texts).
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Bude podán výklad o vývoji řeckého jazyka od helénistické koiné do ustavení dimotiki jako oficiálního jazyka (1976). Výklad bude doplněn četbou textů (papyry, Nový zákon, ukázky z byzantských kronik, hagiografie i románů, z kyperské a krétské literatury a z raně novodobých textů).
