Course objectives
Every seminar will be mainly devoted to interpretation of some poems of certain Czech poets (from the period of the 19th and 20th century)but we will also use some extracts from foreign written poetry. The seminar will point at different ways of interpreting poetry and at the changes in its evaluation.
Syllabus
  • Detail analyses of chosen poems aiming at showing every authors specific style, specific period in his work or the influence of his belonging to a certain group and to present differrent evaluation of his work. We will point at the difference between interpretation of poetry and interpretation of fiction.
