Course objectives
The main aim of the seminar is to equip the students with basic terms from the fields of poetology, versology and narratology which help the students to become familiar with basic strategies useful in interpreting literary texts. The terms of literary theory will be scrutinized in their historical context, i.e. in connection with particular periods in the history of literary science (positivism, formalism, structuralism, hermeneutics, Constance School). Part of the seminar will also be devoted to interpretation of particular theoretical and artistic texts. Scanned materials which are analysed in seminars can be found in IS.
