- Course objectives
- The course is focused on the romantic as a typological term across all styles and tendencies and on the artistic and philosophic movement of the late 18th and early 19th century.
- Syllabus
- 1. The romantic as a typological term across styles and tendencies.
- 2. "Blbá nálada" (V. Havel) and the romantic reaction to the French revolution and Napoleon's era. 3. The romantic and enlightenment. 4. German romantic between philosophy and poetry. 5. Reactualisation of romantic motives and processes in late bourgeois and postmodern culture. H. Hesse, early Thomas Mann, Rainer Maria Rilke, Julius Zeyer, Jakub Arbes, art nouveau, ecological movements etc.
