Course objectives (in Czech)
Přednáška poskytne posluchačům základní informace o vývoji výtvarného umění starověkého Orientu, především Mezopotámie. Ozřejmí zrození vědomě pěstovaného umění v epoše vzniku státu a civilizace jako všeobecně srozumitelné a vnímatelné soustavy symbolů, s jejíž pomocí soudobé elity vnášely do společnosti své duchovní konstrukce a usilovaly o jejich přijetí a uznání. Studenti získají přehled o vývoji architektury, plastiky, malířství a uměleckého řemesla starověkého Předního Východu. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována vzniku a zobecnění pečetních válečků jako jednoho z nejtypičtějších projevů umění starověké Mezopotámie, a rovněž jako jedné z velmi významných kategorií archeologických nálezů v oblasti.
