Course objectives

The aim of the course is to offer students practical skills to combine philological knowledge with general geographical acquirements.Attention will be paid to the Nort American areas .

• Tematické okruhy jednotlivých hodin: 1.Introduction. General information. Practical description of the region. (Alchazidu, Polická) 2. Geographic and geolinguistic methods of analyses. The SWOT analyse. (Polická) 3. Regional geography - Canada. (Polická) 4. Regional geography - Mexico.(Alchazidu) 5. Demographic and socio economical analyse of Mexico.(Alchazidu) 6. Sociolinguistic questions in Mexico.(Alchazidu) 7. Demographic and socio economical analyse of Québes and Louisiana.(Polická) 8. Sociolinguistic questions in Québec and Louisiana.(Polická) 9. Lecture of visiting professor I(Quirion) 10. Lecture of visiting professor II (Quirion) 11. Other hispanophic regions.(Alchazidu)
