Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of Ancient and/or Modern Greek language, ability to follow a lecture in English.

Course objectives
The course is outlined as four independent block seminars taught by four different specialists. Each block will be dedicated to a specific topic related to Byzantine literature according to research interests of each teacher. After the termination of the course, students will not only get acquainted with the topics presented, but they will be also able to work with relevant bibliography and online resources related to the field of their studies and they will use information obtained during the course to create their own paper. They will also improve significantly their reading and interpreting skills in Byzantine Greek.

Lecture and seminar, reading and interpreting the Byzantine texts.

Active participation in the course. Submitting a short paper on a chosen topic (ca 9000 characters).
