Course objectives (in Czech)

Základní osnovou přednášky je pojetí antiky jako jednoho z kořenů evropské hudby. Reflektována budou následující témata: antická hudební teorie, filosofie, rétorika, mytologie, literatura a umění. Tyto jevy budou sledovány v průběhu vývoje evropského hudebního myšlení od svých antických počátků až po současnost.

Syllabus (in Czech)

• 1. Hudba v antickém Řecku a Římě – řecká hudební teorie (Aristoxenos).
• 2. Ohlas antické filosofie – harmonia mundi (Pýthagorás, Boëthius, Kepler, Hindemith).
• 3. Význam antické rétoriky pro vznik barokní hudby – musica poetica (Cicero, Quintilianus, Burmeister).
• 4. Afektová teorie a její kořeny v dílech starověkých filosofů – imitazione delle parole (Platón, Ficino, Caccini, Monteverdi).
• 5. Genere concitato – teorie hlasových rejstříků (Monteverdi).
• 6. Parodie antického mýtu v hudebním divadle (Ovidius, Dürrenmatt, Monteverdi, Gluck, Offenbach, Strauss, Stravinskij, Martinů aj.).
• 7. Střet apollinského a dionýského principu (Nietzsche, Stravinskij).
