- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- With special emphasis put on contemporary fine art, the seminar focuses on ways how visual arts are communicated through the media. Using specific examples from practice and involving active participation of students, the aim is to find answers to the question what the current media image of visual arts is and what effect this has on our society.
- Syllabus
- 1. Possibilities and methods of presentation of exhibitions and accompanying programmes offered by museums and art galleries 2. Collaboration PR departments of museums and galleries with the media, working with resources 3. Analysis of Czech media, reflecting events related to art 4. Choice of relevant topics and work with a potential audience; media and audience relationship 5. News and current affairs genres and their use in informing on art 6. Operation of the media, influence of the choice of topics and the manner of their presentation on the society 7. Understanding visual arts through media
