Předpokládá se pasivní znalost anglického jazyka na úrovni B1 (schopnost porozumět anglickému textu k tématům přednášek, schopnost informovat se o dění v anglofonních médiích, případně schopnost porozumět dokumentárnímu filmu s anglickými titulky).
Předmět je určen pro studenty bez odborných znalostí tématu. Z tohoto důvodu výjimky studentům FSS nebudou udělovány. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to historical and political context of the development of the eastern and southern Mediterranean emphasising on the 20th century and the present. Based on selected major cases of region (Israeli-Palestinian conflict, political developments in Turkey, Syria and Lebanon, the situation in Cyprus and the issue of the Kurds or the Arab Spring), students learn about the dynamics of turbulent developments in the region in context.
