Course objectives
Aims and Objectives: The close connection between Milan Kundera´s early, socialist-realistic work from the 1950s and his later, mature novel is a highly interesting feature of his writing. The course will analyse the principal novels by Milan Kundera from the 1970s and 1980s with reference to his early work as well as his later work, written in French.
The aims and objectives of the course will be to:
- identify the main characteristic features of Kundera´s writing; - comprehend the work by Milan Kundera in the context of Czech literature in the 1950s und 1960s.;
- interpretate the work by Kundera in the European literary context, especially the French one;
- realise the difference bettween the work written in Czech and written in French.
