Course objectives
The seminar is dealing with the analysis of individual theatre performances. At the end of the course students should be able to apply theoretical knowledge onto theatre practice.

The course is inteded for master's students of DTS and it is mandatory for them.
The seminar is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the seminar student will be able to:
- describe theatre performance;
- analyse particular components of theatre performance;
- interpretate themes and motives of the theatre performance that come out of analysis;
- define and evaluate creative devices, structure of the artefact and its cultural importance.

  • Theoretical approaches to analyzing the production
  • Discussion of selected examples of analyses
  • Written analyses of the performances, discussion about the texts

Two submitted analyzes during the semester and the final essay (15000 - 18000 characters). Active participation in the seminar. Pass-fail line is 70%.
