Abstract
MUST-READ – books you haven't managed to read, films you haven't seen, revision (not just before the state exam).
There will be 6 screenings during the semester, followed by discussion related to the literature for the class. The course assumes active student participation in the discussion.
Learning outcomes
The student after completing the course:
- will be familiar with classic Polish literary works,
- gain an overview of the development of Polish cinema in the given period,
- be able to analyse selected films,
- be able to discuss these issues in an informed manner.

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Projection, analysis, discussion. Students may be asked to write brief responses to the required readings before class.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
Active participation in class (max. 2 absences) and completion of homework. Students will end the course by submitting a short paper (2 pages) on a selected film (from a list) that they have not seen in the seminar.
