Course objectives
The application of non-human DNA research is very broad. The subject is focused on topics dealing with the use of knowledge of genetics and molecular biology of animals, plants and microorganisms in human life, health and nutrition.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: describe the types of molecular-genetic markers that are used in the study of non-human DNA and give specific examples and application in practice; characterize genetic resources and their significance for humans; compare the process of animal domestication based on genetic changes; describe the use of DNA analyzes of non-human origin in various branches of human activity, e.g. food industry, agriculture, biomedicine, criminology.
