Fundamental knowledge of chemistry
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to obtain an overview and knowledge in the field of analytical chemistry from classical methods to instrumental (electrochemical, spectrometric and separation) methods. At the end of the course, students should be able to: - understand the use of analytical reactions by analysis - choose technique of samples treatment - characterize parameters important by instrumental methods - compare capacities for classical, electrochemical, spectrometric and separation methods - gain an idea of practical application of methods
Learning outcomes
The student is able to: - utilize analytical reactions by analysis - characterize parameters important by instrumental methods - assess posibilities of practical use of classical, electrochemical, spectrometric and separation methods

Teaching methods
Education is performed as lectures with PowerPoint presentation and a few video recording. Understanding of principles of analytical methods, measurements, data evaluation and the use in practical analysis is emphasized.
Assessment methods
Final assessment (at the end of semester) is by attendance written examination. It is not test but 25 questions, which frequently require description, explanation or schematization of asked topic. These questions include also example of pH calculation and example of titration. Questions have points according to their difficulty. Another possibility is a final oral examination in the distance form
Language of instruction
