Syllabus
  • Body of lower and higher plants, telome theory, growth and life forms. Root - functions, origin, types, branching, modifications, utilities. Stem - functions, origin, types, branching, buds, modifications, utilities. Leaf - functions, origin, petiole, lamina, modifications. Vegetative reproduction, spores, sexual reproduction, alternation of generation and nuclear phases of various systematic groups. Flower - strobilar theory, functions, origin, orderlines of flower organs, calyx, corolla, nectaries, inflorescence. Androeceum - filament, anther, staminodium. Gynoeceum - types, placentation, ovules. Transport of pollen grains, fertilization, allogamy, autogamy, apomixis. Seed - origin, types, embryo, endosperm. Fruit - apocarpy, coenocarpy, classification of fruits. Diaspora - transport of diaspores.
