- Course objectives
- The main aim of the lecture is the comparative osteology of selected groups of Tertiary and Quaternary reptiles (Varanidae, Anguidae, Lacertidae, Colubridae, Elapidae, Viperidae). The lecture is suitable for those interested in Quaternary paleontology.
- Syllabus
- 1 - systematical division of reptiles, the taxonomical position of studied groups within reptilian classification; 2 - the general osteologal characterization of reptiles; 3 - overview of squamate representatives of Sauria (Varanidae, Anguidae, Lacertidae) and Serpentes (syn. Ophidia) (Colubridae, Elapidae, Viperidae) - osteology, taxonomically importand features.
- Assessment methods
- Lecture is finished by the colloquium in the form of final talk with students.
