Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The mandatory course intended namely for bachelor students of the physics aimed to the astrophysics. Main aim of the course is to learn future adepts of astronomy as greatest as possible sum of practical knowledge and skills in the astrophysics, namely the stellar astrophysics. Students will be able to apply basic techniques of astrophysical data processing, their analysis and interpretation. Students, who share the astrophysical "know-how", will proceed more effectively in writing of their scientific articles and thesis.
Syllabus
  • Spectroscopic and photometric diagnostics of stars. Variable stars, their PEP and CCD observations. The basic and advanced treatment of observational data. Maps, catalogues, ephemerides. Search for literature, data, writing of astronomical articles. Practical using of the descriptive statistics and LSM. Participation in conferences. Astronomical institution in Czech Republic and in abroad. Who is who in the contemporary astrophysics.
