Prerequisites
Students are required to have completed all basic chemistry courses (especially of general, physical, inorganic, organic chemistry and biochemistry) in the extent typical for students of chemistry teaching.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The goal of this course is to provide future teachers with some practical orientation in problems concerning the lecture of chemistry on high schools.
Learning outcomes
Student can select an appropriate method for teaching of particular topic; knows frequent didactic mistakes and is able to avoid them.
Syllabus
  • 1. School chemistry lab, it´s equipment and maintenance. 2. Documentation for teaching chemistry. 3. Activities of a chemistry teacher outside class. 4. Interdisciplinar relations and cooperation with other teachers. 5. Motivation in chemistry. 6. Chemical competitions. 7. Relations between the curriculum of grammar and high school.
