Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to present practical aspects of the fundamentals of analog and digital cartography and geoinformatics.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- understand and apply the practical aspects of the fundamentals of analog and digital cartography and geoinformatics;
- use GIS softwares.
Syllabus
Exercises are connected to the realized lectures: 1. Basic terminology in the field of cartography and geoinformatics. 2. Introduction to GIS SW. 3. Data models and basics of editing. 4. Available datasets and web map services. 5. Definitions and methods of generalization in GIS. 6. Map composition. 7. National mapping activities, map sheet systems.
