Navazuje na F6121 (Základy fyziky pevných látek). Soustředěno na vliv snížené dimenzionality v polovodičových heterostrukturách. Diskuse plauzibilních modelů a praktických aplikací.
Syllabus
  • 1. Overview of the electronic and vibronic structure of semiconductors, discussion of the gap and lattice parameters of elementary semiconductors, III-V's, II-VI's, and alloys. 2. Heterostructures, structure and electon states. 3. Technologies for atomically flat interfaces, MBE and MOVPE. 4. Kvasiparticles in low-dimesnional structures, quantum wells, wires, and dots. 5. Transport properties. Quantum Hall effect. 6. Optical properties. 7. Optoelectronic applications.
