Learning outcomes.
After this eight-days excursion to the Brno surroundings, students should be able to:
identify both common and some rare species of the South Moravian flora;
describe their habitats and ecological requirements;
discuss specific topics of rare plant species conservation.

  • The following sites will be visited during eight one-day botanical excursions:
  • 1. Brno-Obřany (-Bílovice)
  • 2. Brno, Kamenný vrch
  • 3. Brno-Řečkovice, Nature Park Baba
  • 4. Moravian Karst
  • 5. Tišnov, Květnice Hill
  • 6. Pouzdřany,National Nature Reserve Pouzdřanská step
  • 7. Česká, valley of the Ponávka riverlet

Teaching methods
One-day botanical excursions: plants are shown and its diagnostic characters and ecological requirements described, accompanied by the basic information on the visited sites.
Assessment methods
Test of knowledge of common plant species (identification test during the last excursion day), credit.
