Prerequisites
Completion of the lectures F7600 "Physics of stellar atmospheres" and F8601 "Modelling of stellar atmospheres" (or some alternative education in the field) may offer better understanding of the problems discussed.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The goal is to present to participants open topical problems of the research in the field of stellar atmospheres and winds.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course the students will
  • be informed about selected actual topical problems in the field of theory and observations of stellar atmospheres and stellar winds
  • establish contacts with active scientists in the field
  • gain experience with preparing seminar talks on actual problems in the field
  • gain experience in scientific discussions in English
  • Syllabus
    • Selected topics from the theory of radiation transfer, astrophysical atomic physics, interaction of matter and radiation, stellar atmospheric physics and modelling, dynamics of stellar winds will be discussed. Subjects for discussion will be chosen according to their actual importance.
