Academic Writing Workshop for EAP Tutors Outline Date: Friday 4^th April 2014 Key information This one-day workshop is designed to familiarize tutors of EAP with a number of key classroom issues, provide EAP tutors with an opportunity to observe and share successful classroom materials, and to reflect on some of the ways in which feedback can be given in academic writing. In order to participate in this workshop, participants will be asked to complete a pre-workshop task. In addition to this, participants are urged to bring a number of classroom activities that have been successful in developing their students’ academic writing. Workshop summary Upon completion of the workshop, participants will: 1. have an awareness of current issues in EAP classes and be able to develop solutions to overcome them 2. have a greater understanding of the types of activities that function well in an academic writing classroom 3. be aware of free online materials 4. be familiar with different ways of giving feedback during and after the writing process Workshop The workshop will cover the following areas: 1.
