CEITEC is a young and dynamic interdisciplinary research centre that is
focused on life sciences, advanced materials, and nanotechnologies. It is
located in the city of Brno where Gregor Mendel once laid down the
foundation of modern genetics. CEITEC was founded by a group of Brno
universities and research institutions and operates as a consortium.
CEITEC Masaryk University (CEITEC MU) is one of the organisational units,
it provides top equipment and optimal conditions for basic and applied
research, especially in the field of life sciences. The centre employs
excellent scientists from all over the world, who conduct their research in
areas of structural biology; genomics and proteomics of plant systems;
molecular medicine and brain & mind research. CEITEC MU also provides
access to 11 core facilities equipped with cutting-edge technologies in life,
nanotechnologies and material sciences. High-end instrumentation, funded
through national and European projects, is accessible to internal and
external users from academy and industry at national and international
levels.
Life Sciences and Molecular Medicine PhD School at CEITEC MU is an
international and interdisciplinary programme with a wide range of topics
from experienced supervisors and emphasis on strengthening sociomanagerial
and soft skill. CEITEC PhD School students participate in an
innovative training program, and benefit from a dedicated mentoring team.
