Contribution to scientific, artistic or cultural activities of the nominee to MU:
Professor Dirk Inze, an internationally acclaimed scientist in the field of plant biology and a distinguished member, later becoming the head of the International Scientific Advisory Board (ISAB) at CEITEC MU, played a pivotal role in co-creating the standards of science and related activities at CEITEC MU. His involvement with ISAB not only impacted plant research within the institution but also significantly influenced the overall scientific direction of the Institute. He contributed to the peer review evaluation and strategic planning, shaping the Institute's future.
Prof. Inze generously shared his extensive experience and insights gained from his tenure as the scientific director of the VIB-UGent Centre for Plant Systems Biology. This support was instrumental in establishing key scientific initiatives and resources at CEITEC MU, elevating it to an internationally recognized scientific institution. Among these initiatives were the introduction of international peer review assessments, and sharing experiences that were the inspiration for both the CEITEC PhD School or the core facilities across extensive research infrastructures.
