Jiří Zlatuška, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics Masaryk University, Faculty of Informatics, Botanická 554/68a, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic 1/2 T: +420 549 49 1801, E: dekan@fi.muni.cz, www.fi.muni.cz Dear colleagues, Due to the measures imposed by the Czech Ministry of Health, physical presence at the workplace without a valid negative SARS-CoV-2 test result will be prohibited from Wednesday 17 March 2021. The test result must not be older than 7 days and all employees are required to submit to testing, except for the following persons: a) employees working from home b) people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the previous 90 days c) people who have received full vaccination (two doses), where at least 14 days have passed since receiving the 2nd dose. An employee must demonstrate the facts under subparagraphs (b) and (c) by means of a certificate issued by a licensed healthcare services provider. The form and the course of testing will be decided by deans and the heads of the individual economic units. The possible forms of testing are as follows:  self-administered tests using testing kits supplied by the employer (at the faculties),  or tests administered by trained healthcare staff, which will be arranged by the University in its own testing centres: in the Bohunice campus, at the MU Rector’s Office, in the premises at Vinařská street No. 4, and in the MU Faculty of Science complex at Kotlářská street (please follow https://www.muni.cz/en/coronavirus for up-to-date information); you will be able to register for a test using the ‘COVID-19 Prevention’ application in INET, which is linked to the existing COVID application, or  passing the RT-PCR test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus performed by a health service provider included in the sampling center network, or  passing the POC antigen test for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus performed by a health service provider included in the sampling center network. Testing kits for self-administered tests will be made available at the individual workplaces. Distribution of centrally procured kits to the economic units will start on Friday 12 March 2021. The following is more particular information for the Faculty of Informatics: For the building of the Faculty of Informatics, from 17 March 2021 on, I prohibit employees (including employees on work performance agreements) and students entering and staying in the faculty premises without a documented negative test stored in the IS [https://is.muni.cz/auth/koronavirus/samotestovani, Coronavirus: details and applications → COVID-19 self-testing]. This prohibition also applies to situations where access is not prevented by technical means. This documentation will be provided by inserting (i) a photograph with a sufficiently legible image of a document confirming facts related to b) or c) above or the result of an externally performed test by MU medical staff as described above or another MUindependent test site including employee or student identification, or (ii) a photograph documenting the result obtained by the self-test kit in the form of a kit after use with a visible negative result, the dates of this testing (date written on a sheet of paper on which the test kit is placed) and identification of the worker or student by name and UCO (written on the paper with the date or just by placing an employee or student ITIC / ISIC card with legible id data next to the test set), or the entry of the information (i) or (ii) may be ensured in another way by the employee superior. 2/2 The Faculty of Informatics will transfer this information in bulk to the records in INET and it will also process it for deactivation / activation of chip cards for employees / students without stored information about the negative result. The self-test sets will be available for employees of the Faculty of Informatics to be picked up at the Faculty reception and their issue in the amount corresponding to the specified testing period will be registered, among other things, in order to obtain the insurance contribution to their price. Testing in any other way takes place without cooperation with the Faculty of Informatics and its financing is usually provided by health insurance. Employees/staff (including contract employees) who have not taken the test in the past seven days are allowed to enter through the main entrance, to pick up their self-test kit at the faculty reception after identifying oneself using an employee chip card, but without physical contact with other person, and then either leave the building again for a self-test outside the faculty premises, or to perform a self-test in reserved places for sitting in the faculty lobby in front of the reception, including to wait at this location until the self-test result is completed. Students (with the exception of those who also have an employment contract with the Faculty) are not allowed to enter even the entrance areas, without a documented negative test. For students, the authorization to enter with a documented negative test will be checked using a chip ISIC card at the reception. The aim of these measures is to maintain an environment in the building of the Faculty of Informatics matching a general standard of absence of infection corresponding to the meaning of the extraordinary government measure on employee testing. Of course, the seven-day testing period does not provide absolute guarantee, nor are the tests completely reliable, especially not those self-administered tests. Therefore, I would like to ask everyone to use home office for their work to maximal extent and to minimize your physical presence on the faculty premises (and that adhering to all preventive measures). Untested people are generally considered to be potentially infected, so all measures are aimed primarily at minimizing or even better eliminating their stay in the building and the risk of transmitting the infection. On the other hand, we try to minimize the burden that you have to take as employees during the necessary stay in the building, while fully complying with all the obligations set out in the government's extraordinary testing measure. There is no need for testing during continuous home office use. It is only required for a stay at the workplace, i.e. for entry to the building of the Faculty of Informatics. Thank you for understanding for these steps, which are based on the obligations imposed on the Faculty and the University by an extraordinary testing measure, as well as on the effort to contribute as much as possible to curbing the spread of the epidemic with a perspective of returning to more normal conditions soon. I firmly hope that we will be able to pass through this time with minimal damage and, as much as possible, in good health. Sincerely yours, Jiří Zlatuška March 10, 2021
