To unify the values reported for teaching in doctoral
programmes in the workload system
(as amended with effect from 7 February 2023)
Pursuant to Section 28(1) of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions
and on Amendments and Additions to Other Acts (the Higher Education Act), as
amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Higher Education Act"), I issue this instruction
(hereinafter referred to as "this instruction"):
Article 1
This instruction is issued to determine the procedure and to unify the conditions for the
application of Masaryk University Faculty of Law Measure No.5/2020 Determination of
Criteria for the Evaluation of Academic Staff Performance (Workload) in the Field of
Teaching in Doctoral Programmes in the Spring and Autumn Semesters of the Academic
Year, as significant inconsistencies have been found in the workload system in the past
regarding the reporting of lectures and seminars in individual courses in doctoral study
programmes.
Article 2
(1) Accordingly, I hereby specify that the maximum creditable value of lectures for each
reported course is 10. The maximum creditable value of seminars for each reported
course is 10.
(2) The limitation of the number of hours reported is based on the average number of
lectures/seminars held in doctoral study programmes, taking into account the
distribution of the working time pool, taking into account the difference between a
consultation and a lecture/seminar, and finally taking into account the fact that the
hours reported are to be in the workload system without preparation (preparation is
counted separately).

(1) I hereby authorize the Secretary of the Faculty to take into account the above
limitation while determining the distribution of funds to the departments/institutes for
the purpose of determining the personal evaluation.
(2) I also instruct the Faculty Secretary to ensure that the values reported in the workload
system are limited.
Article 4
This instruction becomes effective on the date of its publication in the Masaryk University
Information System (IS MUNI).
