About the BICEPS team
We are delighted to present to you our BICEPS team that worked on this e-learning.
Masaryk University, Czech Republic:
Andrea Pokorná
Andrea Pokorná is a Full Professor of Nursing at Masaryk university, Faculty of Medicine in the Czech Republic. She is the vice-den for non-medical study programmes and information technology. She is a vice-Chairman of Association of University Educators of Non-Medical Health Professions in the Czech Republic (bringing together 24 higher education institutions). She is also closely collaborating with the Ministry of Health to support academic education of allied healthcare professional.
Her research activities are focused mostly on Nursing education and its determiners, Quality of care and Adverse event, Patient Safety, Missed Nursing Care and wound care with special attention to the Pressure ulcers. She has been elected the president of European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (for the period 2023-2025). She is an author of co-author of more 100 publications (Scopus) with more than 800 citations.
Radka Wilhelmová
PhDr. Radka Wilhelmová, RM., Ph.D., works as a university teacher and a midwife specialist and she is currently a guarantor of the Midwifery study programme at the Department of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno. She participates in the preparation of professional conceptual materials and in research tasks and projects at the national and international level. At the same time, she prepares midwifery students - future professionals for the performance of their profession. As a part of her clinical practice, she cooperates with the Midwifery Centre of the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the University Hospital in Brno. In all of the above-mentioned levels, she develops the theoretical and practical basis of health literacy and integrative procedures and methods, especially in the field of reproductive health. She implements everything not only in teaching and research but also in counselling of pregnant women.
Lenka Veselá
Mgr. Lenka Veselá, RM, works as a university teacher at the Department
of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno, where she
is mainly involved in the education of midwifery students and coordinates their
professional training. She is a member
of project teams at national and international level. Besides her teaching
activities, she cooperates with the Midwifery Centre of the Gynaecology and
Obstetrics Clinic of the University Hospital in Brno and works there as a midwife
and consultant. In her teaching and clinical practice, she develops and
implements health literacy and education topics. She has been a delegate of the
professional organization at European Midwives Association and International Council
of Midwives for many years.
Natália Beharková
Natália
Beharková works at Department of Health Sciences, Masaryk
University, Faculty of Medicine. She works as an
assistant professor and supervises the study programme General Nursing. Natália
is a long-time teacher in the field of nursing. She specializes in didactics,
social interaction and educational processes in nursing. She likes to innovate
teaching. She enjoys working with students and colleagues, she participates in
the activities of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University. She loves her
job.
Simona Saibertová
Simona Saibertová, Ph.D. is a long-time educator with experience in acute, primary, and long-term care nursing. In her teaching activities, he focuses on the issues of nursing and methodological guidance in preparing final theses. Her scientific research activity is mainly focused on the topic of non-healing wounds and the quality of care in healthcare. She is a co-investigator of several research projects and an investigator of many pedagogical projects aimed at improving non-medical students' teaching quality.
Barbora Buchtová
Barbora Buchtová, Ph.D. implemented various international projects related to financial literacy & financial capability. Her involvement in financial literacy declares her work consisting of the preparation of the content of the university course ‘Financial literacy’, teaching university students financial literacy, disseminating activities among disadvantaged citizens, and teaching financial literacy in asylum houses and children's houses.
Dr. Buchtová worked as a researcher at Financial
Education and Research Centre at Massey University in New Zealand and taught Personal
Finance or Financial Counseling at Texas Tech University in the U.S. She has
been certified in Professional Competence in the Financial Market. Her wide
expertise includes various skills she has earned as a project coordinator, and university lecturer, by working with vulnerable groups, including socially
disadvantaged citizens, and consulting financial literacy matters not only
on the national but also the international level.
University of Udine, Italy:
Alvisa Palese
Alvisa Palese is a Full Professor of Nursing in Udine University, Italy,
where she is the Dean of the Nursing Bachelor. She has been just appointed as
President of the Italian Permanent Conference of Bachelor’s degree and Master’s
degree Courses of the Health Care Professions.
She is passionate in Nursing Research. Her research includes different
topics, such as Nursing Workforce, Residents living in Nursing Homes, Patient
Safety, and Missed Nursing Care. She has more than 380 publications (Scopus) and
she has been awarded as Top Peer Reviewer on Publons.
Aysun Bayram
Aysun Bayram is a research assistant and a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Karadeniz Technical University (Trabzon, Turkey). She received her bachelor and master’s degrees in nursing at Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) and Atatürk University (Erzurum, Turkey) in 2016 and 2020, respectively. Besides, she was involved in the research project belonging to Erasmus+ KA2 Building Financial Capability for Healthcare Professionals (BICEPS) in collaboration with the University of Udine (Udine, Italy). Before carrying out her doctoral studies, she made up professional skills by working in Riga Medical College (Riga, Latvia) and a state Hospital (Turkey). Currently, she is acting for national and international project studies, presentations and congress papers.
Stefania Chiappinotto
Stefania Chiappinotto is a research fellow and a Ph.D. student at the Tor Vergata University (Rome, Italy). She attended the bachelor and master’s degrees in nursing at University of Padova (Padova, Italy) in 2015 and 2017, respectively. Besides, she was involved in the research project belonging to Erasmus+ KA2 Building Financial Capability for Healthcare Professionals (BICEPS) in collaboration with the University of Udine (Udine, Italy). Before starting her doctoral studies, she has worked in AULSS 2 Marca Trevigiana Hospital (Treviso, Italy) in the medical and paediatrician department.
University of Primorska, Slovenia:
Sabina Ličen
Dr Sabina Ličen is an Associate Professor and Senior
Research Associate at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska
in Slovenia. She holds a PhD in education. Her work focuses on global health
and health equity, transcultural nursing, nursing competencies and the use of
ICT in nursing education, and digital literacy in higher education. She is also
an expert in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis in
quantitative research and mixed methods research. She is a visiting professor
at the University of Rijeka. She is an active member of the Nurses and Midwives
Association of Slovenia, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing
and the European Transcultural Nursing Association and a member of the editorial board of the journal
Slovenian Nursing Review and a reviewer for several international nursing
journals.
Mirko Prosen
Dr Mirko Prosen is an Associate Professor and Senior Research Associate at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska. He holds a PhD in sociology. His work focuses on women's health and issues related to social circumstances affecting women's health, as well as a wide range of issues arising from the sociology of health and illness. He is also an expert in the field of qualitative research with an extensive bibliography. Since 2016, he has been an editor of the Slovenian Nursing Review. He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Rijeka, Croatia. He is currently involved in several EU-funded projects. He is a recipient of Sigma Theta Tau International Grant (2013/14), the French Government Research Grant (2019), the University of Primorska Award for 2020 and other conference awards. He is also a member of several international professional organizations.Igor Karnjuš
Dr Igor Karnjuš is an Assistant Professor and
Research Fellow at the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Primorska. He
holds an MSN and a PhD in Biomedical technology from the University of Maribor
and is a Registered Nurse. His topics are Emergency nursing, Surgical nursing,
Simulations and Nursing research. Prior to joining the University of Primorska
in 2007, he was employed at the General Hospital of Izola in the emergency
department and anaesthesia. He holds a certificate of the European Resuscitation
Council as an instructor of advanced life support. He is also a part of the
commission for international cooperation at the Faculty of Health Sciences,
University of Primorska. His specific research interests include quantitative
methodology, clinical research, critical care area, and simulations in healthcare.
