Are you ready to show your knowledge concerning popular culture, music, medicine and enhance it with a pint.. or 7?! Bring a new team or defend your honor with an old one, MIMSA’s Pub Quiz is the place where heroes are made. Come to the MIMSA Pub Quiz and prove you are on the right team and overcome the MIMSA’s quiz master’s questions. Date of event (day, month, year): 14.04.2011 Venue: Tres Gallos, bar above McDonalds near the main trainstation Number of participants: 15 teams of 4 people = 60 people plus board members and several spectators, around 80 people total Reason for event: To have a social event and get MIMSA members together outside of the club scene Important contacts: Tres Gallos: 775 005 145 Future event consideration: Mjuzik Financial budget: 5000 kc deposit which was returned - 129 kc for beer mugs + 2500 kc for teams, entry, and profit from pizza Evaluation of events: Everyone who came to the event had a good time, the venue was a perfect size for the number of teams that played and the set up with the tvs worked well for everyone to be able to see the questions. There were some issues with the questions and getting the final powerpoint. The technology wasn’t as we expected and should have been checked earlier. Due to this problem some issues arose within the board creating a conflict for before the event started which then affected some decisions made during the event with the final evaluation of the answer sheets. The event needs to be started earlier and the pizza needs to be order sooner. Also the evaluation needed to be done faster and correctly. Pros: The venue was perfect, ordering the pizza was a good idea, the people that attended had a good time. Cons: The questions were finalized too soon for the deadline forcing the event to be delayed and people became restless, also because of this the pizza was ordered late and took a long time to deliver. The answer sheets were not corrected quickly enough causing some teams to leave. Also there were many Erasmus teams and not enough MIMSA teams. What to do differently in the future: Mjuzik would be a great future venue when more teams will be playing (around 30). For answer sheet evaluation: have a piece of paper for each round, therefore the questions can be corrected after each round, preventing the chaos and rush in the end. Also that way the results will be delivered faster. Conclusion: It was a good event, but it lacked some key organization, and MIMSA attendance was rather low compared to the previous year.
