The time is right to talk about practical care concepts for our old and very old patients. In the third edition of our symposium, we want to break new ground in order to offer participants an attractive programme. The aim is that you will actually be able to apply what you have just learned on Monday. To this end, we have been able to recruit an attractive mix of experienced private practitioners and university lecturers for the programme. We are planning workshops with industry partners who are heavily involved in Gerodontology and will present their own concepts here. Another goal is that, through international networking, we would like to dare to look beyond our own experience and learn from international experts how they react to the challenges in Gerodontology and which treatment concepts are successful in their hands. For this reason, we have drawn even more broadly on expert representatives and specialist societies for the 3rd IGSB this time. The symposium will be organised in collaboration with the Universities of Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich as well as the Swiss Dental Association SSO, the European College of Gerodontology ECG, the Swiss Society for Geriatric and Special Care Dentistry SSGS, the Gerodontology Association GA and the Japanese Society of Gerodontology JSG. In order to meet the challenges of the pandemic season, we are planning and organising a hybrid congress. This means that the participants can either attend the congress on site or follow the lectures and take advantage of the offers of the industry partners in their home offices. On site, we will have a well thought-out protection concept approved by the cantonal medical officer. All lectures will be simultanously translated and will be available in Englisch, Japanese, German and French to ensure that everyone can get the most out of the congress. We expect an exciting and interesting congress and would be very pleased to welcome you in Bern in person, or virtually.
