Interdepartmental English Studies Management of the
Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University
(as amended effective from 1 February 2022)
Pursuant to Section 28, Paragraph 1 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on
Amendments and Supplements to the of other acts (the Act on Higher Education Institutions), as
amended (herein after referred to as "the Act on Higher Education"), I issue the following measure:
Article 1
General provisions
(1) This measure applies to study programmes in English taught at Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk
University (hereinafter referred to as Faculty), at which more than one department is involved in the
provision of the programme. The study programmes in question are Global Challenges, Politics,
Environment and Politics, Media and Communication (herein after referred to as the study programmes).
(2) This measure sets out the responsibilities for the organisational and administrative measure of the
degree programmes and the method of allocating funds resulting from fees for studies.
Article 2
Organisational arrangements
(1) Responsibility for the organisation and administration of the study programmes shall lie with the
guarantor department.
(2) The guarantee department shall be the department which is the regular place of work department of
the study programme guarantor.
Article 3
Determination of the amount of the fee levy
5% of the tuition fees for a given study programme is deducted as profit for the faculty. In addition, an
appropriate percentage to cover the common operating costs of the faculty, which is determined annually
by the Bursar, and 5% for the guarantee departments.
Article 4
Allocation of fee income
(1) The fees for the study programme shall be deposited in a joint contract programme and net of the
levies referred to in Article 3.
(2) The remaining part of the fees shall be distributed among the departments involved in the
implementation of the degree programmes shall be distributed according to the proportion of direct
teaching hours in each course of study programmes.

(3) Of the total of all hours, the proportion of representation of each department will be determined of
teaching and the same proportion will then be allocated to the individual departments, which will be
charged to a separate departmental contract.
(4) Departments shall spend the transferred funds according to their needs - in particular on the
remuneration and motivation of teachers participating in the study programme, for reimbursement of costs
associated with guest lecturers and other operating costs as the decision of the Head of Department or
his/her delegated employee.
Article 5
Final provisions
(1) I hereby delegate the interpretation of the individual provisions of this measure to the Bursar.
(2) The Bursar shall monitor compliance with this measure.
(3) This measure shall enter into force and effect on 1 February 2022.
