1/21 Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University, Measure No. 10/2023 LIST OF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES OF THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL STUDIES OF MASARYK UNIVERSITY 2024 Scholarship programmes of the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as "the Faculty") are announced in accordance with the current Scholarship Regulations of Masaryk University. The following groups of scholarship programmes are announced in 2024: (1) Dean's Award Scholarship Programmes (2) Scholarship programmes for the support of talented students (3) Mobility Scholarship Programmes (4) Student Assistant Scholarship Programmes (5) Social Scholarship Programmes (6) Scholarship Programmes to support student activities This inventory summarizes the eligibility requirements for each scholarship programme and the total amount of scholarships paid under them. The dean may decide transfer amounts for scholarships up to 10% of the program whose amount is to be increase, between any programmes except Program 4 (Scholarship Programmes Student Assistantships). For this transfer, provided that the total amount is maintained of the entire roster of scholarship programmes in a given year, the approval of the AS FSS MU isn’t required. 2 1. DEAN'S AWARD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES 1A. Scholarship Programme for the Dean's Awards of the Faculty of Social Studies 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize the best student in the Bachelor’s programme, the best student in a Master's degree programme, the best student of a doctoral programme and the best student of an English study programme for the year 2023, in accordance with the statute of this award. The purpose of the scholarship is to motivate students to engage in activities that can help represent the faculty and enhance its credit both within Masaryk University and to the public. 2) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students who are eligible for the scholarship and the conditions for its awarding: The amount to be awarded shall be a one-time scholarship, which shall be to be paid to students who are in the programme of study at the standard time and have been selected in accordance with the statutes of this award. The programme is intended only for faculty students. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty Scholarship Fund. 5) CZK 12,000 is allocated for this scholarship program in 2024. 6) The Dean shall award the scholarship. 1B. Scholarship programme for the recognition of participants in professional conferences I. A. Bláhy 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to award participants in a professional conference of excellence Bachelor‘s thesis I. A. Bláha. The purpose of the scholarship is to motivate the achievement of excellent academic results that will enable the quality of educational process and representation of the faculty in public; 2) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students eligible for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: the amount determined shall be awarded as a one-time scholarship to be paid to active participants of the Conference I. A. Bláha. Participants are nominated by the heads of the departments from students who defended their bachelor theses in the spring semester 2024 or the fall semester 2024. Every programme of Bachelor study in both Czech and English is entitled to nominate one participant. The programme is open to faculty students only. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) CZK 36,000 is earmarked for this scholarship programme in 2024. 6) The allocation of the scholarship is awarded by the Vice Dean for Studies. 2. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES FOR THE SUPPORT OF TALENTED STUDENTS 3 2A. Scholarship programme for the support of exceptional professional performances of the faculty students in bachelor and postgraduate programmes 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to award students achieving exceptional professional performance leading to the improvement of the quality of the educational process and the representation of faculty in the public. These exceptional performances are considered to be primarily participation in professional projects of departments and research institutes and individual or collective professional activities (e.g. participation in professional conferences or competitions) that promote the faculty's third role, social responsibility and enhance its reputation in the public. Assessment of what constitutes outstanding professional performance varies by degree level. 2) The scholarship program is announced on January 1, 2024. 3) The range of persons who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for awarding the scholarship: applications for the scholarship shall be submitted by academic staff or professional faculty staff, and in justified cases students, solely by submitting in the IS MU. The programme is intended for faculty students only in Czech study programmes. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) Amount of the scholarship: a proposal for the amount of the scholarship is included in the application (HERE) for its award, which must include: a) identification of the student (name and surname, ID number, degree of study, studied programme); b) the title of the project; c) a specification of the activities for which funding is requested; d) specification of the amount of funds requested (in CZK only); e) proof of professional guarantee granted to the applicant by an academic employee of the faculty if the application is submitted by a student f) the applicant's consent to the disclosure of related data (name and surname, title, programme studied, purpose, amount requested) on the website of the faculty. The amount of the one-off scholarship is based on the amount of proven incurred expenses related to the event attended. At the same time, the applicant shall clearly demonstrate that the expenditure requested is in accordance with the rules of efficiency and maximum cost-effectiveness. The scholarship may also financially reward work done in the framework of the project in question, provided that its nature is in accordance with Article 1. The vice-dean decides on the amount. The decision takes into account the purpose and focus of the project, the amount of the requested amount, the opinions of the guarantor of the application and the financial budget of the scholarship program. 6) Applicants shall be informed of the decision no later than 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. That is the date on which the scholarship application is entered into the IS MU. Part of the decision includes whether the amount is awarded 4 as a one-off scholarship or is paid in several instalments in relation to the fulfilment of the project objectives. The successful scholarship applicant is required to prepare a report on the activity for which the awarded scholarship is linked to, which he/she shall save in the IS MU in the folder with the application no later than 30 days after the implementation of the project. The report shall include a signed opinion from the project sponsor stating explicitly whether or not the project has achieved its intended objectives. If the report is not accepted, the applicant shall be informed within 15 days by the person responsible. Otherwise it shall be deemed to have been accepted. If a grant is requested for a professional performance that has already taken place at the time of application, the report is not required to be submitted. 7) An applicant who has already been awarded a scholarship in calendar year 2024 may not submit the application in this scholarship program and has not yet accepted a report of the activity to which the scholarship award was tied. 8) An amount appropriated for this scholarship program in 2024 is CZK 30,000. 9) The award of the scholarship is made by the Vice Dean of Studies. 2B. Scholarship programme for the recognition of students' publishing activities 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize students whose professional publications contribute to the scholarly performance of the Faculty and its reputation. They must be publications that i. are properly affiliated with the Faculty of Social Studies Masaryk University, if the journal allows it (see Appendix 1 for a sample of affiliation),ii. are assigned to a project carried out at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University iii. have parameters for inclusion in RIV and are also assigned in RIV to an organisational unit of the Faculty of Social Studies. 2) These are the following types of publications: a) an article in a journal of the WoS or SCOPUS database; b) a professional monograph published (1) in an international publishing house (list in an international publishing house (see Annex 2); (2) in another publishing house; c) a chapter in a professional monograph published (1) by an international publishing house,(2) in another publishing house. d) Rules for counting quartiles of WoS and SCOPUS journals i) If a journal is in both the WoS and SCOPUS databases, WoS counts; ii) The quartile of a journal is counted according to the "higher takes" rule, i.e. if the journal is in more than one field, the highest quartile is counted; iii) The WoS quartile of a journal is determined by the Article Influence Score (AIS), quartile. The quartile of a SCOPUS journal is determined by the Scimago Journal Rank (SJR). 3) The scholarship program is announced as of January 1, 2024. 4) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: the programme is intended only for students of the faculty in both Czech and 5 English study programmes, who are studying in the regular period of study + 1 year. The scholarship application form is submitted by students via the MU IS HERE). 5) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 6) The maximum amount of the scholarship for each type of publication in 2023 is part of the Appendix 1 to this roster. 7) The application must include: a) i. the full bibliographic details of the publication; ii. the classification of the publication the category of publication for which the scholarship is awarded (see Article 2), iii. if the publication is the current quartile of the journal shall be indicated, if the journal is in the first decile (DEC1), then this information is given; b) the published text. However, if it is electronically traceable, the reference to the publication; c) evidence of the record of the publication in the IS MU; d) the amount of the student's author's contribution (expressed as a percentage); agreed by all co-authors (a simple statement by the applicant that all co-authors agree with the amount of the applicant's share of authorship); e) the applicant's consent to the publication of the scholarship award data (name, degree, programme studied, text data, amount awarded) on the web faculty website. 8) Applicants are notified of the decision no later than 30 days from the date of receipt of the application, i.e., the date the scholarship application is submitted. 9) An amount of CZK 350,000 is allocated for this scholarship programme in 2024. 10) The amount of the scholarship is awarded by the Vice Dean for Research and Ph.D. studies based on assessment of the publication type and student’s co-author share. 2C. Scholarship programme for awarding the best students of the faculty 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to provide a one-off award to undergraduate students, for outstanding academic achievement and to encourage student motivation to achieve high quality results in their studies. 2) The scholarship is awarded as a one-off award to undergraduate students in the Czech study programmes for outstanding results after a decisive period. 3) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 4) The scholarship is awarded in the fourth week of the semester as a one-time benefit after the conclusion of the penultimate semester of the standard period of study (i.e. the fifth semester of the bachelor’s studies and the third in the master’s studies) to all students (i.e., even more than one in the same program) who meet the conditions for its payment. The condition is a minimum credit gain (140 ECTS in the bachelor's degree and 85 ECTS in the master's degree). 5) The scholarship does not need to be applied for, it is awarded automatically and paid to the student within 30 days from the time of its occurrence to the student's bank account. 6) In bachelor programmes, scholarships will be awarded in the following amounts: a) Category 1: average 1.00: CZK 20,000 6 b) Category 2: average up to 1.20: CZK 12,000 7) In continuing master's programmes, scholarships will be awarded in the following amount: a) Category 1: average 1.00: CZK 20,000 8) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 9) An amount of CZK 350,000 is allocated for this scholarship programme in 2024. The scholarship will be funded in the amount of 350 CZK. 10) The amount of the scholarship is awarded by the Vice Dean for Studies. 3. MOBILITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES 3A. Scholarship programme to support long-term internships abroad students of the faculty 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to support international student mobility leading to improvement of the quality of the educational process and the representation of the faculty in public. For the purpose of this List, long-term international internships are understood to mean foreign study and work stays of not less than one month. 2) The scholarship programme is announced as of January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: students of Czech study programmes may apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is available to Czech students at all levels of study via the IS MU (HERE). The scholarship is intended for students of the faculty who are at the time of the planned start of a long-term foreign internships in all their active studies at FSS in the standard length of study. The scholarship is not intended for mobility to the applicant's place of permanent residence. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty Scholarship Fund. 5) The amount of the scholarship is based on the length and location of the stay and depends on the lump sum monthly amounts set for a given country, and on the actual costs of transport to and from the place of the long-term foreign placement. The scale of monthly flat-rate amounts is included in Annex 2 to this List. The scholarship may be awarded to any student in the calendar year 2024 only once. Only a student may apply for this scholarship program who has not applied for the 3D programme in the same calendar year. It is not possible to apply for the same scholarship in the 3A and 3D programmes at the same time. You cannot apply for support for stays longer than 90 days that are also fulfilling FSSd0900 and FSSd0990. 6) A student may request an increase in the scholarship due to a trip abroad with a dependent for whom he/she is caring and living in the same household. The dependent may be a child/children under 10 years of age and/or an adult dependent on the daily care of the scholarship applicant. The increased amount of the grant is 100 % of the amount awarded to the applicant under paragraph (5). 7) The scholarship is awarded on the basis of an individual assessment of each application which must include: 7 a) the date and purpose of the stay, the name of the event, the justification for the application, the expected benefit of the stay; b) a specification of the amount of funding requested (in CZK only); c) proof of professional guarantee granted to the applicant by an academic or professional staff of the faculty (typically head of department, head of (e.g., a departmental head, a bachelor's or master's thesis supervisor, or a dissertation supervisor thesis supervisor); d) the applicant's consent to the disclosure of related data (name, title, programme studied, purpose, amount requested) on the faculty website; e) proof of the guarantees of the stay - usually a letter of acceptance of the host institution (to be submitted as an attachment to the application); f) in the case of an application for a dependent travel allowance under paragraph the student shall document: the name, residence and relationship of the dependent to the student, in the case of a child/children, the age. And an affidavit of daily care and the increased costs of the foreign stay with the dependent. g) information on whether and how much the long-term internship is/will be co-funded by other sources, including whether this funding is requested and has not yet been approved. The decision to award a scholarship for a long-term internship abroad is taken twice a year by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Student Affairs on the basis of a proposal of a committee composed of departmental coordinators of foreign placements. Decision takes into account the purpose and focus of the placement, the opinion of the professional guarantor of the application and the financial budget of the scholarship programme for the long-term internship. 8) The complete application must be submitted via the MU IS by April 30 or October 31 for the internship taking place in the following semester. In justified cases a scholarship can be applied for an internship taking place in the current semester. The applicants shall be informed no later than 15 days from the date of the decision of the designated of the Vice-Dean for Internationalisation and Student Affairs about the decision on whether or not to award a scholarship for a long-term internship abroad. 9) The successful applicant is required to prepare a report on the activity for which the award is scholarship is linked to, a report for the file with his/her application in the IS Office, no later than no later than 30 days after the project has been implemented. The report shall include a signed statement of the project sponsor explicitly stating whether or not the project has achieved the objectives envisaged by the project. In the event that the report is not accepted, the applicant shall be informed within 15 days by the person in charge. Otherwise, it shall be deemed to have been accepted. 10) An applicant whose report has not yet been accepted may not submit an application on an activity to which a previous award under 3A was linked or in the 3D programme. 11) An amount of CZK 1,000,000 is earmarked for this scholarship programme in 2024. 12)The award of the scholarship is made by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Student Affairs. 8 3B. Scholarship program to support foreign trips of the faculty students 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to support international student mobility that leads to increasing the quality of the educational process and the representation of the faculty in public. For the purposes of this List, international trips are defined as foreign stays of less than one month's duration. 2) The scholarship program is announced as of January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: students of Czech study programmes may apply for the scholarship. The scholarship is available to Czech students at all levels of study via the IS MU (HERE). The scholarship is intended for students of the faculty who are at the time of the planned start of a long-term foreign internships in all their active studies at FSS in the standard length of study. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty Scholarship Fund. 5) The amount of the scholarship for the foreign trip is based on the length and location of the trip and depends on the lump sum and daily amounts established for the country. The daily lump sum scholarship is awarded for a maximum of the first 20 days of the trip. The rates of lump sums is included in Annex 2 to this List. 6) The foreign travel grant is awarded on the basis of an individual assessment of each application, which includes: a) the date and purpose of the stay, the name of the event, the reasons for the request, the expected benefit of the stay; b) specification of the amount of funds requested (in CZK only); c) proof of professional guarantee granted to the applicant by an academic or professional staff of the faculty (typically the head of the bachelor's or master's thesis or dissertation supervisor; or a faculty teacher, if the trip is part of an activity organised by faculty/teaching faculty); d) the applicant's consent to the disclosure of related data (name, title, program studied, purpose, amount requested) on the faculty website; e) proof of guarantees for the trip - usually a letter of acceptance the host institution (to be provided as an attachment to the application); f) information on whether and to what extent the trip is/will be co-financed by other sources, including if such funding has been requested and has not yet been approved, and information on whether the foreign trip is linked to with an activity organised by the faculty/teacher of the faculty. The award or non-award of a scholarship for a foreign trip and its total amount is decided three times a year by the Vice-Dean for Internationalisation and Student Affairs. The decision takes into account the purpose and focus of the trip, the opinion of the professional guarantor and the financial budget of the study abroad programme. Scholarship may be awarded to each student only once in the calendar year 2024. 7) The complete application must be submitted via the MU IS by March 31, June 15 or October 31, for internships taking place in the months following the application. The decision on whether or not to grant a scholarship for a foreign trip, applicants are 9 informed within 15 days of the date of the decision by the of the Vice-Dean for Internationalisation and Student Affairs. 8) The successful applicant is obliged to prepare a report on the given activity, to which the scholarship is linked, in the file with his application in IS MU, no later than 30 days after the implementation of the project. The report shall include a signed statement of the project sponsor explicitly stating whether or not the project has achieved the objectives envisaged by the project. In the event that the report is not accepted, the applicant shall be informed within 15 days by the person in charge. Otherwise, it shall be deemed to have been accepted. 9) An applicant whose report has not yet been accepted may not submit an application on an activity to which a previous award under the 3B programme was linked. 10)An amount of CZK 370,000 is earmarked for this scholarship programme in 2024. 11)The award of the scholarship is made by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Students. 3D. Scholarship programme to support foreign study or work placements of PhD students 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to support students of the Faculty's doctoral study programmes, who, in the context of fulfilling their study obligations in the compulsory courses of the doctoral studies, gain experience at foreign universities and institutions where deepen their professional knowledge or practical skills related to programme and their dissertation. It is an extra standard that is supposed to facilitate the development of professional knowledge or practical skills in students’ areas of education. The scholarship supports continuous stays abroad not less than 90 days, except as provided in paragraph (2). 2) By reason of the personal and daily care of a dependent with whom the doctoral student lives in the same household, an application may be made for a split foreign stay equally into two parts, each part lasting a continuous period of at least 45 days. The dependent may be a child/children under 10 years of age and/or an adult dependent on the daily care of the scholarship applicant. 3) The scholarship program is announced as of January 1, 2024. 4) The scholarship is open to faculty students who, at the time of the scheduled start of a long-term study abroad program and who are in the standard length of study in semesters beginning in the calendar year in which the scholarship program is is announced or in the semester following, are enrolled in FSS900 or FSS990. 5) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its Scholarship application: PhD students apply for a scholarship in both Czech and English study programmes via the MU IS (HERE). 6) The scholarship is not intended for mobility to the applicants' country of residence. 7) The application in this scholarship programme can be applied by a student who in the same calendar year has not applied for support under the 3A program. It is not possible to apply for the same placement in the 3A and 3D programmes at the same time. 10 8) The source of funding for the scholarship is the faculty scholarship fund. 9) The amount of the scholarship is a flat rate. A schedule of monthly lump sum amounts is included in the Appendix 2 of this List. A scholarship may be awarded to any student during his/her doctoral studies only once. 10)A student may apply for an increase in his/her scholarship due to a trip abroad with a dependent for whom he/she is caring and living in a shared household. The dependent may be a child/children under 10 years of age and/or an adult dependent for daily care the applicant for the scholarship. The increased amount of the scholarship is 100 % of the amount awarded to the applicant under paragraph (5). 11)The scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of an individual assessment of each application which must include: a) the date and purpose of the stay, the reasons for the request, the expected benefit of the stay; b) information on the extent to which the stay is/will be financed from other sources, namely even if such funding is requested and not yet approved; c) proof of the professional guarantee given to the applicant by the chair of the Doctoral Board ('the guarantor’) of the applicant's doctoral programme, using the opinion of supervisor. The guarantee shall certify, inter alia, that the placement qualifies for full fulfilment of the doctoral study requirements in FSSd0900 and FSSd0990; d) evidence of the guarantee to carry out the placement - normally a letter of acceptance of the host institution (to be provided as an attachment to the application); e) the applicant's consent to the disclosure of related data (name and surname, degree, programme studied, purpose, amount requested) on the faculty website or IS; f) an affidavit from the student stating in which semester he/she will enrol in the course FSSd0900 or FSSd0990, the course requirements of which the student is fulfilling. The Dean decides on the award of the scholarship twice a year. The decision is made by the opinion of the guarantor; g) in the case of a claim for a dependent travel allowance under paragraph (10), the student shall document: the name, residence and relationship of the dependent to the student, and in the case of a child/children, the age. A further affidavit of the daily care and increased costs of the foreign stay with the dependent. h) in the case of a request to split the foreign stay into two parts according to paragraph (2), the student shall document: the name, residence and relationship of the dependent to the student, and in the case of a child/children, the age. A further affidavit on the daily care of the dependent. 12)The complete application must be submitted via the IS MU (HERE). On whether or not to grant a scholarship for a long-term stay abroad are applicants are notified within 15 days of the Dean's decision. 13)The successful applicant is required to prepare a report on the activity for which the scholarship is linked to, and shall file the report in the MU IS with their application in the MU IS Office no later than 30 days after the end of the placement. The report shall 11 also include a signed statement from the project guarantor explicitly stating whether or not the intended objectives of the stay were achieved. If the report is not accepted, the applicant is informed within 15 days by the person in charge. Otherwise, it shall be deemed to have been accepted. 14)An amount is allocated CZK 100,000 for this scholarship programme in 2024. 15)The award of the scholarship shall be made by the Vice Dean for Research and Doctoral Studies. 4. STUDENT ASSISTANT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES 4B. Scholarship program for student assistants of the Dean's Office, Specialized Units and Radio R 1) The scholarship is for students assisting in research and teaching activities of the dean's office and specialized units of the faculty, as well as students operating Radio R. These activities contribute to improving the quality of the educational process at the faculty and are beneficial to the academic community. 2) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students eligible for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: The amount to be distributed shall be allocated to each department of the faculty in the proportion corresponding to the number of student assistants. The departments will disburse the scholarships in monthly or one-off instalments, depending on the nature of the assistance of students who were successful in the selection process. The programme is intended for Masaryk University students, who are enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or doctoral programme studies, in both Czech and English study programmes. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) An amount of CZK 450,000 is allocated for this scholarship programme in 2024. 6) Scholarships shall be awarded by the dean on the basis of proposals from the heads of the specialized units, the Dean's Office and/or the Head of the Department of Media Studies and Journalism for students running the faculty's Radio R. 4C. Scholarship programme for student assistants within promotional and representation activities of the faculty 1) The scholarship is for students assisting in promotional and representational activities of the Faculty and its departments. These activities contribute to the promotion of the faculty and its units, enhance the public credit of the faculty, and benefit the academic community. 2) The scholarship program is announced as of January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students who can apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: Students may receive the scholarship for significant creative contribution to the 12 promotion of and representation of the faculty and its units (for example, by creating promotional texts, photographs, videos, online presentations, graphics, presentation of the faculty at high schools etc). The application for the scholarship is submitted either by the students, the department heads or members of the FSS management through the IS MU (HERE).The programme is designed for Masaryk University students who are enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate master's or doctoral studies, in both Czech and English programmes. 4) Amount of the scholarship: a proposal for the amount of the scholarship is included in the application (HERE) The application must include: a) the name of the project or activity; b) a specification of the purpose(s) of the activity(ies) for which funding is requested; c) specification of the amount of funds requested (in CZK only); d) evidence of the professional guarantee given to the applicant by a Head of Department or members of the FSS management, if the application is submitted by a student; e) the applicant's consent to the disclosure of related data (name, title, programme studied, purpose, amount requested) on the website of the faculty. 5) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 6) An amount of CZK 250,000 has been allocated for this scholarship programme for 2024. 7) The awarding of the scholarship shall be made by the Vice Dean for Communication. 5. SOCIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES 5A. Social scholarship programme for new socially disadvantaged students of the Faculty 1) The scholarship is intended for students from among the applicants who are admitted to full-time undergraduate study for the academic year 2024/2025. Purpose of the scholarship is to contribute to the adaptation of newly admitted students who are disadvantaged by existing social circumstances of themselves or their families, at the Faculty. The scholarship helps the public representation of the Faculty. 2) Students must meet the conditions of social disadvantage. The scholarship may be awarded students who are entitled to child benefit (according to Section 17(1) of the Act 117/1995 Coll., on State Social Support, as amended) if the relevant family income determined for the purposes of child benefit does not exceed the product of the amount of the family's subsistence minimum and a coefficient of 3.0. To prove social disadvantage, the student shall request the so-called "eligibility determination form" from the Labour Office child benefit for the last quarter prior to the application for the social grant, stating the family's subsistence level and the family's qualifying income for the last quarter prior to the application. In exceptional cases, social need may be 13 demonstrated by other appropriate means, provided that the decisive income of the family does not reach three times the family's subsistence minimum. The certificate must not be older than more than two months from the date of application. 3) The scholarship programme is announced as of January 1, 2024. 4) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: students apply for the scholarship via the MU IS (HERE) after enrolment in the autumn semester of their first year of study, at the latest October 30, 2024. The applicant must not have any previous unsuccessful previous studies at FSS. The program is intended only for students of the faculty in the Czech programmes. The application must include evidence of social need according to paragraph (2). 5) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 6) Amount of the scholarship: the students concerned will be awarded monthly scholarships in the amount of CZK 2,000 CZK month to be paid to them between September 2024 and June 2025. The scholarship is paid on a rolling basis in the form of monthly payments. 7) The decision to award the scholarship shall be made by the authorised Vice-Dean. Applicants are notified of the decision informed no later than 30 days from the date of receipt of the application, i.e. the date on which the application is submitted. 8) Receipt of this scholarship does not preclude the possibility of receiving scholarships in other scholarship programmes implemented at the Faculty. 9) The Dean may reduce or withdraw the scholarship if the student is found to be by the Disciplinary Committee of the Faculty guilty of a violation of the Disciplinary Regulations. 10)An amount of CZK 72,000 is allocated for this scholarship program in 2024. 11)The allocation of the scholarship is awarded by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Students. 5B. Social scholarship programme for faculty students with disabilities 1) The scholarship is intended for bachelor, master and doctoral students who prove that they have a disability within the meaning of Act No. 435/2004 Coll. on employment, or are holders of a special benefits card ZTP or ZTP/P pursuant to Act No 100/1988 Coll. on Social Security. The purpose of the scholarship is to reduce the documented handicap threshold of talented students. The scholarship helps representation of the faculty in public. 2) The scholarship program is announced as of January 1, 2024. 3) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for awarding the scholarship; the application for the scholarship is submitted by the students themselves via the MU IS (HERE) after enrolment in the autumn semester of the respective academic year. The scholarship is repeatedly awarded only for the number of semesters that corresponds to the standard semester time + two semesters during the period of study. The programme is intended only for faculty students in Czech study programmes. The application must include documentation of the person's 14 status disability within the meaning of Act No 435/2004 Coll. on Employment or possession of a special benefits card ZTP or ZTP/P according to Act No. 100/1988 Coll. on social security. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) Amount of scholarship: the students will be awarded monthly scholarships in the amount of CZK 1,000 per month to be paid between September 2024 and June 2025. In cases of special consideration, the Dean may increase the scholarship up to the amount of CZK 5,000 per month. 6) The awarding of the scholarship is decided by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Students. Applicants are informed of the decision no later than 30 days from the date of acceptance. The date on which the application for the scholarship is submitted. 7) Receipt of this scholarship does not preclude the possibility of receiving scholarships in other scholarship programmes implemented at the Faculty. 8) The Dean may reduce or withdraw the scholarship if the student is found to be by the Disciplinary Committee of the Faculty guilty of a violation of the Disciplinary Regulations. 9) An amount of CZK 50,000 is earmarked for this scholarship programme in 2024. 10)The allocation of the scholarship is awarded by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Students. 5C. Social scholarship programme for faculty students – parents 1) The scholarship is intended for full-time undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students who provide evidence that they have been able to support themselves during the course of their studies at the faculty during the academic year of the scholarship programme, a child was born. The scholarship is awarded only once per child, either to the mother or to the father. The purpose of the scholarship is to help these students to cope with the difficulties associated with the birth of a child during full-time study. The scholarship helps to represent faculty in public. 2) The scholarship programme is announced as of January 1, 2024. If the students interrupts studies due to the care of a child, this scholarship may be awarded in 2024 upon her/his re-enrolment in the studies, provided that the child was born in the calendar year 2023 or 2024. 3) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for awarding the scholarship: the application for the scholarship is submitted by the students themselves via the MU IS (HERE). Students must have completed the standard length of studies at the time of application in all active study programmes at FSS. The program is only for Faculty students in Czech study programmes. The application must include Proof of parentage (copy of the child's birth certificate). 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) Amount of scholarship: a one-time scholarship will be awarded to the student in the amount of CZK 5 000. 15 6) The granting of the scholarship is decided by the Vice-Dean in charge. The decision will be issued by the within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application, i.e. the date on which the application for the scholarship is submitted. 7) Receipt of this scholarship does not preclude the possibility of receiving scholarships in other scholarship programmes implemented at the Faculty. 8) An amount of CZK 50,000 is allocated for this scholarship programme in 2024. 9) The award of the scholarship is granted by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Affairs Students. 6. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMMES TO SUPPORT STUDENT ACTIVITIES 6A. Scholarship for students active in faculty bodies 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize faculty students who are gaining practical experience by serving on faculty bodies: program councils of study FSS MU, the student chamber of the Academic Senate of FSS MU, the FSS MU Scholarship Committee, FSS MU Disciplinary Committee and the FSS MU Dean's Working Group for Sustainability. 2) The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Faculty. 3) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 4) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 5) An amount is allocated for this scholarship program in 2024. The scholarship will be funded for CZK 150,000. 6) The amount of the scholarship is based on the number of meetings of the bodies listed in paragraph 1, in which the student prepares for and actively participates, in the amount of CZK 1,000 per meeting. In the event that the student is the President of the Academic Senate of the FSS MU, he/she is entitled to support in the amount of CZK 3,000 per meeting. 7) Scholarships are awarded by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation and Student Affairs on the basis of proposals by the President of the Student Chamber of the AS FSS MU, the President of the FSS MU Disciplinary Committee and the Dean based on the minutes of the meetings of the bodies. The scholarship is awarded twice a year - on May 31 and November 30. 6B. Scholarship to support cultural and social activities 1) The purpose of the scholarship is to reward outstanding educational and cultural character of undergraduate, postgraduate master's and doctoral students degree programmes that lead to the public representation of the faculty and student projects aimed at the third role of the university and strengthening social responsibility. 2) Such performance is considered to be primarily event organization such as debates, lectures, exhibitions, theatre performances, etc., including cultural activities, 16 socially and environmentally oriented projects, as well as the publication of magazines and other ways of presenting the faculty, representing the faculty, etc. 3) The scholarship programme is announced from January 1, 2024. 4) The range of students who may apply for the scholarship and the conditions for its award: the application for the scholarship is made by the students themselves, exclusively by depositing in IS MU (HERE). The programme is intended for students in Czech study programmes. 5) The source of funding for the scholarship is the Faculty's scholarship fund. 6) Amount of the scholarship: a proposal for the amount of the scholarship is included in the application form (HERE), which must include: a) basic information about the applicant (name and surname, ID number); b) a specification of the purpose/activity for which the requested funds are to be used c) the purpose(s) for which the funds are to be used; a specification of the amount of funding requested in the form of a line item budget (in CZK only); d) evidence of professional guarantee granted to the applicant by an academic faculty staff; e) a specification of how FSS support for the project will be publicised; f) the applicant's agreement to publish the entire application in the MU IS. 7) The awarding of the scholarship is decided by the dean after consultation of the faculty management on the basis of a proposal submitted by the AS FSS Student Chamber. To assess the application for a scholarship, the AS FSS Student Chamber establishes a scholarship committee, which consists of FSS students, as its advisory body. The amount of the one-time scholarship is in the form of a financial award for the performance done within the given project, which must comply with the rules of efficiency and maximum economy. 8) The evaluation of projects in this scholarship programme shall take place at least twice per year, at least once in each semester. Deadlines for submission of proposals for each round are set by the Vice Dean for Internationalisation in cooperation with members of the AS FSS Student Chamber. The evaluation of applications is carried out on the basis of the information provided in the application. 9) The Scholarship Committee assesses the submitted applications in accordance with the Rules of Operation Scholarship Committee of the AS FSS MU and then forwards to the AS FSS Student Chamber the final report of the scholarship round. The AS FSS Student Chamber submits the final report to the faculty management for a decision, or may return it to the Scholarship Committee for reworking. Payment of scholarships takes place on the next payday after the decision of the faculty management. 10)The successful scholarship applicant is required to prepare a report on the activity for which the scholarship award is linked to, a final report, which he/she shall deposit in the submission room of the IS MU in the application folder no later than 30 days after the project has been completed, or no later than 30 days after the payment of the grant (if the project has already been implemented). In it he/she evaluates how he/she has used the scholarship support to achieve the objectives stated in the application. The report must also include information on how the applicant has publicised the FSS 17 support for his/her project. The report shall also include a signed a statement from the project sponsor, explicitly stating whether or not the project has achieved the objectives envisaged by the project. The applicant is subsequently, no later than 15 days, informed by the person responsible whether the report has been accepted. The control agenda of final reports is carried out for the 6B programme by the FSS AS Scholarship Committee. 11)An application cannot be applied by a student who has been awarded a scholarship in the same scholarship programme in calendar year 2024 and who, after completing the activity for which the scholarship was tied to, has not submitted a report on that activity or that report was not accepted. 12)The amount appropriated for this scholarship program in calendar year 2024 is CZK 220,000. 13)The Dean shall award the scholarship on the proposal of the AS FSS Student Chamber. FINAL PROVISIONS 1) The implementation of the measures is laid down for each scholarship programme. 2) The scholarship shall be paid in Czech crowns to the bank account designated by the student. 3) Compliance with this measure is monitored by the Faculty Bursar. 4) The awarding of scholarships from January 1, 2024 shall be assessed in accordance with this measure. 5) This Measure replaces the Measure of the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University no. 9/2022 – List of FSS 2023 Scholarship Programmes dated November 3, 2022. 6) This Measure shall enter into force on the date of signature and shall come into force on January 1, 2024.
