In particular, the measure applies to students studying in fields of study and programmes whose accredited language is Czech. Section 2 Language of the Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis (1) The Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral thesis shall be written in the language in which the programme is conducted or in the language specified for this purpose in the programme specification, pursuant to Section 22, paragraph 2a and Section 31, paragraph 3 of the Regulations. (2) The Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral thesis may always be submitted in English, unless this is expressly forbidden by the programme specification, pursuant to Section 22 subsection 22a and Section 31 subsection 3 of the Regulations. Section 3 Exceptions for the use of another language (1) Within all programmes and fields of study at the FF MU accredited in the Czech language, Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral theses may also be prepared and submitted in the Slovak language; this option shall not apply only in the case of written disagreement by the thesis supervisor. The form of language accepted by the thesis supervisor is then reflected in the title of the thesis in the IS MU Topic List. (2) Students may also prepare and submit a Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral thesis in a language other than the language in which the study programme or field of study is accredited, or other than that specified in Section 2 subsection 2 of this measure, but only with the consent of the thesis supervisor or the doctoral board. In this case, the thesis will include an abstract in Czech and English. Section 4 Specification of the language in other documents related to the Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis (1) All formal documents related to the assignment, elaboration and submission of a Bachelor’s, Master’s and doctoral thesis (thesis assignment, thesis supervisor’s and reviewer’s evaluation) shall be prepared in the language in which the field of study or programme is accredited. (2) For the evaluation of the thesis supervisor and the reviewer’s report, English and Slovak may be used, regardless of the specified language of the accredited field of study or programme, or else other languages customary in the academic environment and context of the field of study, without further administrative measures. Section 5 Other use of a foreign language The submission of an application does not entitle the applicant to a favourable outcome, nor does approval of the change give rise to any entitlement to exemptions from the Regulations or other regulations governing the conditions of study. Section 6 Final provisions (1) I authorize the the Vice-Dean for Bachelor’s and Master’s Studies and the ViceDean for Doctoral Studies to interpret the individual provisions hereof. (2) The compliance with this Measure shall be inspected by the head of the office for studies. (3) This measure shall enter into force on the date of signature.
