Dean’s Directive No. 1/2009 AWARDING THE COMMEMORATIVE MEDAL OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS, MASARYK UNIVERSITY On the basis of the consent of the Rector of Masaryk University and in accordance with Section 23 of the Statutes of the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as the “FF MU”), I issue this Directive: Section 1 The FF MU Commemorative Medal (hereinafter referred to as the “Medal”) is awarded on ceremonial or other occasions to individuals - for significant scientific achievements on an international and national scale; - for outstanding achievements in teaching; - for an exemplary and dedicated twenty-five years of work for the faculty on the occasion of life anniversaries (60, 70, 75 and 80 years); - for contribution to the development of the faculty. Section 2 The medal is bronze, and a dedication certificate is issued in the name of the holder. Section 3 Non-faculty staff and foreign nationals can be awarded the medal for significant service to developing cooperation with the FF MU. Section 4 Proposals for the award of the medal are submitted to the Dean of the faculty by academic officials, the chair of the Faculty of Arts Academic Senate, the Faculty Bursar, members of the faculty’s Scientific Board, heads of FF MU departments, institutes and seminars, no later than 30 days before the award is to be made. Section 5 The Medal is usually awarded by the Dean after approval by the Dean’s Council and is presented together with the diploma at a meeting of the faculty’s Scientific Board or at a personal reception for the awarded employee. Section 6 The Medal can be awarded to one person only once. Section 7 Records of Medals are kept by the Faculty Bursar. Section 8 The Directive comes into force and effect on the date of publication.
