I'll., <; 105820 9 937 9 Directives of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University c. 4/2019 0 assessment of foreign education of applicants for study in doctoral study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine MU (as in force from 1 April 2019) Pursuant to Section 28 of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Additions to Other Acts (the Higher Education Act), I issue this Directive: Section 1 Introductory established 1. Masaryk University is a higher education institution which fulfils the condition set out in Section 48(6) of Act No.111/1998 Coll., on higher education institutions, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Higher Education Act"), because: it has obtained institutional accreditation for at least one area of education, and is thus entitled to assess the fulfilment of the condition for admission to study pursuant to Paragraph 4(d) and Paragraph 4(e) of the Higher Education Act, as amended by later regulations. (c) of Section 48 of the Higher Education Act for all faculties. 2. This directive specifies the assessment of the fulfilment of the condition for admission to study concerning the demonstration of the successful completion of studies in a master's degree programme under § 48 (3) of the Higher Education Act. The Directive defines the procedures for verifying the foreign education of applicants for admission to study in doctoral study programmes of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as "MU Faculty of Medicine") who have obtained a foreign education at a foreign higher education institution, in connection with § 48 para. 5 in conjunction with paragraphs 6 and 7 of the Higher Education Act. Clanek 2 Interpretative and general provisions 1. For the purposes of this Directive, an applicant is a person applying to study in a doctoral study programme who has completed his/her previous studies at a foreign higher education institution in accordance with the legal regulations of a foreign country. 2. For the purposes of this Directive, foreign documents shall mean, unless otherwise specified or provided otherwise, a foreign university diploma, certificate or similar document issued by a foreign higher education institution which has been obtained on the basis of graduation from a higher education programme at a foreign higher education institution operating under the laws of a foreign country, and, if applicable, a supplement to the diploma and supplementary information on the fact that the study programme was carried out by an institution authorised to provide education comparable to higher education according to the Higher Education Act and on the fulfilment of higher education studies abroad. 3. All documents submitted by the applicant for the purpose of verifying his/her secondary school education must, unless otherwise specified, be submitted as certified true copies of the document in question. If the original document is in a language other than Page 1 of 3 Czech, English or Slovak language, the tenderer is obliged to submit, together with a certified copy of such a document, an editorially certified submission of such a document in the Czech or English language. 4. C:lanek 3 Proof of fulfillment of the condition for the orderly completion of studies 1. Section 48(3) of the Higher Education Act stipulates that admission to study in a doctoral study programme is conditional upon the completion of studies in a master's study programme. 2. Fulfillment of the condition for the radical completion of studies in a master's degree programme is the following § 48 para. 5 of the Higher Education Act: 2.1. a document on the general recognition of foreign higher education in the C:eske Republic, obtained in accordance with § 89 and 90 of the Higher Education Act; 2.2.a foreign document of foreign higher education, which is equivalent in the Czech Republic according to their international obligations without any further regulatory requirement; 2.3.a foreign document of foreign higher education, which was obtained by completing studies in a higher education programme at a foreign higher education institution governed by the laws of a foreign state. 3. In the case of proving fulfilment of the condition pursuant to paragraph 2.3 of this article, the MU Faculty of Arts may require the submission of additional information on the content and scope of the foreign higher education studies and a confirmation from a competent foreign authority that the foreign higher education institution in question is authorised to provide higher education in the foreign country in question. C:lanek 4 Applicants with a Master's degree from a higher education institution in the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland 1. If the applicant has obtained a foreign higher education in a master's degree programme in the countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland, he/she proves that he/she fulfils the conditions for admission to the doctoral programme at the MU Faculty of Medicine in accordance with cl. 2.2 or 2.3. 2. The foreign documents submitted by the applicant must meet the conditions set out in cl. 2(2) to (4). 3. In case of doubt about the sufficient level, extent or content of the applicant's previous education, documented by a foreign document, the MU Faculty of Arts will invite the applicant to prove his/her education in the manner specified in cl. 3 para. 2.1. An applicant who has obtained a foreign higher education degree in a master's programme in a country other than that specified in cl. 4 (1), proves that the conditions for admission to study in a doctoral study programme at the MU Faculty of Medicine have been fulfilled in accordance with cl. 3 para. 2.1. 2. Proof of municipal recognition of foreign higher education the cl. 3 para. 2.1, the applicant shall submit a certified true copy together with the foreign document of foreign higher education for which the document of general recognition was issued. The foreign document must meet the conditions set out in cl. 2(2) to (4). Section 6 The course of assessment 1. After the applicant has fulfilled the other conditions of admission, the MU Faculty of Arts records in the applicant's file, on the basis of information and documents from the applicant, information on the verification of the achieved education abroad. 2. In accordance with Section 48 (7) of the Higher Education Act, the MU Faculty of Arts sets out the conditions for admission to study in a doctoral programme in accordance with Cl. 3, para. 2.3. The amount of the fee is set in accordance with the valid and effective measure of the dean of the Faculty of Arts of MU on setting the amount of fees6 related to studies for the first academic year. 3. The fee is not part of the admission fee and is paid directly by the applicant for the degree via the application in the IS MU Business Centre. Article 7 Establishment 1. This Directive shall enter into force and effect on the date of its promulgation. 2. An integral part of this Directive is its Annex 1 - Authentication procedures for signatures and stamps on the original diploma (available from https://www.muni.cz/uchazeci/uzna vani-education/verification-processes). 3. The interpretation of the individual provisions of this measure is entrusted to the Foreign Department of the Faculty of Medicine of MU. 4.
