Researchers’ Night: Respecting our planet This nationwide, science popularizing action, Researchers‘ Night will take place on 27th September from 6 p.m. until midnight. Masaryk University will participate with six science zones. These zones will be connected by a special bus line. The first stop will be the „Botanická“ street, where you can find Faculty of Informatics, Institute of Computer Science and Faculty of Economics and Administration. These faculties have prepared a rich program full of robots, virtual reality, economical games, creative workshop in photography studio and much more. Do you enjoy natural sciences? If so, then you should visit the Faculty of Science, which is on the second bus stop Konečného náměstí, where you can find mineralogical collection, the greenhouse of the botanical garden, watch the stars or participate in many workshops. The Faculty of Philospohy (Grohova stop) will be presented together with the Faculty of Law. You can find many exhibits in the building A, together with a program directly in English. The lecture Inversnaid: Gerard Manley Hopkins’s Environmentalist Appeal by Associate Professor Michael Kaylor will take place in room D51 at 8 p.m. There will also be a quiz based on movies with an environmental theme for families with children that will take place in room D52 from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. You could try to become a senior for 15 minutes, visit a TV studio or see an exhibit with topics of community and climate change. All this and much more will be available at the Faculty of Social Studies (Komenského náměstí stop). The Mendel Museum of Masaryk University, together with Faculty of Education, have prepared entertainment not only for children, but for the whole family. Experiments, knowledge games and much more will be here for you, as well as a lecture that will be presented in English by Dr. Maria Lembring from the Uppsala University about Resurrection of extinct species. The lesson will take place at 6:30 p.m. The University Campus at Bohunice will provide plenty of workshops and games, which will be spread throughout Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Sports Studies, Language centre and CEITEC. The Anatomical museum will be opened from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as well as an exhibit with a workshop about Impact of climate changes on plant growth. Although most of the program is presented in Czech, anybody will be more than happy to present in English for you.
