Dean’s Directive No. 2/2013 STATUTE OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS OF MASARYK UNIVERSITY DEAN’S AWARD (as amended on 1 October 2013) Section 1 Subject of regulation This directive regulates the granting of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University (“FF MU”) Dean’s Award. Section 2 General provisions Each academic year, the Dean of the FF MU, announces a competition for the Dean’s Award of the FF MU (hereinafter referred to as the “Award”) in the category of the FF MU Dean’s Award for Significant Creative Achievement. The Award may be granted to a single candidate or several. The Award need not necessarily be granted. For this category, an evaluation board is appointed according to the rules set out below. The board shall submit a proposal for the Award to the Dean, based on the majority opinion of its members. The Award shall be presented by the Dean at a formal academic assembly or other significant occasion. Each of the awardees receives a diploma and a financial bonus of CZK 40,000. Section 3 Award for Significant Creative Achievement The Award is intended for the FF MU employees and collectives. It is awarded for a work created or published for the first time in the last two calendar years. An application for the Award is understood as a proposal by the head of the department or institute of the relevant faculty of which the proposed employee, or a representative of the proposed collective, is a member. The proposal must include the competition work, its professional characteristics, and evidence of its acclaim. The competition work must be the result of creative activity at the FF MU unit, with the decisive participation of the FF MU staff. If any previous Award has been granted, this fact must be stated in the proposal. Applications are forwarded to the Dean by the heads of the units mentioned above, before the closing deadline. Members of the evaluation board are members of the Dean’s Committee for Science. The Vice Dean for Science is the chair of the committee. Section 4 Final provisions The financial requirements shall be governed by the relevant general rules.
