The Atlas of Oral Mucosal Diseases is an electronic image database of pathological conditions on the oral mucous membranes created based on case reports of doctors cooperating with the Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University. This is an innovated version of the “Atlas of Oral Mucosal Diseases and Periodontology” by MUDr. Jan Vokurka et al. (2011). The atlas is intended for students of master's and bachelor's degree programs at medical faculties.
The individual chapters in the Atlas of Oral Mucosal Diseases are organized in the same manner as in “University Textbook on Oral Mucosal Diseases” by prof. MUDr. Lydie Izakovičová Hollá, Ph.D., et al. from 2020 and logically complement it. Both pedagogical works are interconnected by electronic links in the text and we recommend that the students should work with both of them.
All patients whose anonymized images were included in the Atlas agreed with using the images for educational purposes. The chapters covering rare diseases were supplemented with photographs from book atlases to make the electronic image database of our atlas as complete as possible.
