Assignment #4 - 12(+2) points - deadlines(!) May 10 and 17, 23:59 ================================================================= 4.1) Post (in the IS "Assignment #4, Part 1 - VALUES") to your colleagues in your team (see the team lists below) your hash function output created from a chosen input that is in the range from "000000" to "999999" (string, 6 chars). You should also mention the name of your package/implementation (or its author/source), and briefly describe the method and platform (namely re. high/low-endian, etc.) you used so that your colleague can actually work with your values and get the answer. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to run your code with control vectors (provided in most packages, and also on the SHA webpages). 4.2) Then post (for me) the original value, and also the output, plus pointer to the implementation/package you downloaded for your work, and a short description of any issues/problems related to get the code running on your machine, all in one file, in the IS, folder "Assignment #4, for Vasek Matyas only". !!! Deadline for this part is May 10, 2004, 23:59, up to 9 points will be given for correct execution of this part!!! 4.3) Find the input value corresponding to the hash outputs you found from your colleagues, and post it in the IS, folder "Assignment #4, Part 2 - VALUES ". Deadline for this part is May 17, 2004, 23:59, and 3 additional points can be earned here. 4.4) The team that finishes (all members but one) its work first (and before the deadline) will be awarded with a bonus of 2 points for each member of the team who fulfills both part of this exercise. --- Make sure you're specific enough in your solutiondescribing the method and platform you got your results for (4.2) so that your colleague can actually work with your values and get the answer. :-) The SHA-x code can be found at several places, just try Google and one of the hash function names as the search string. The standard can be found easily the same way, but for simplicity: http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/fips/fips180-2/fips180-2.pdf Good luck!
