PV284 Colloquium Projects Requirements Karel Slavicek October 2024 1 Introduction The IoT world is evolving very rapidly. Any exam question list would be obsoleted very soon. For this reason, the final assessment of the lesson is not an exam but a colloquium. For the colloquium students have to prepare a standalone project, demonstrate the functionality and answer possible questions. Any good idea for the project setup is welcome. 2 Project requirements The project should demonstrate the knowledge of IoT principles and basic contemporary components. It should contain any source of data, communication network / bus, and processing and presentation of data. Students can prepare the project standalone or in small groups of 2 - 3 persons. In case of collaborative work project of bigger size is expected. Group members should distribute their effort evenly and each student should be able to demonstrate his/her contribution to the project. In case of any doubt or idea not covered by this page, please feel free to ask. 3 Project report Each project should be described in a report. The report in pdf format please upload to Homework Vault for PV284 in IS. Latex template for the report is available, you can use any editor but please keep the report structure. The expected length of project report is 1-2 pages including schematics and pictures. Source code used on all project nodes should be attached. Longer or shorter report is acceptable. 4 Project hardware Any kind of hardware available in IoT Lab can be used for the colloquium project. Utilization of hardware planned for new releases of IoT Lab as well as any other hardware existing in the IoT Lab is available upon request. Utilization of students’ own devices for the colloquium project is allowed. 5 Further utilization of colloquium projects The colloquium project might be used to improve the further improvement of IoT introduction or IoT security labs, as examples for future students or in other classes in Faculty of Informatics. That’s all!
