EU foreign policy toward Russia and Eastern partnership countries
EU as a security actor? CSDP post-Lisbon, impacts of Brexit, Ukraine War and the lessons learned. Guest lecture of Dr Benjamin Martill, University of Edinburgh - 20 February 2023
This lecture will be held by the special guest in our course, Dr. Benjamin Martill from the University of Edinburgh.
In the first part of the lecture our guest will speak about the beginnings of the EC/EU attempts for collaboration in the security and defence area before the end of the Cald War and post-Maastricht developments.
Main emphasis will be put then on the impact of Lisbon reforms, development of the CSDP post-Lisbon, the impacts of Brexit in this area and last but not least, also on the Ukrainian War and the lessons learned from this still on-going conflict.
