…Remembering Jules Allemand, charismatic person who
propagated several international innovations in dentistry
and founded Micerium company, met Lorenzo Vanini in
1993 and the story started...
• the international competition among university students was born
in 2004
• on base of exact protocol of Lorenzo Vanini – ideal content for
the lessons in conservative dentistry
• from 2016-2017 edition the Trophy is organized by non profit
association named Insieme Z.S., which will in the future benefit
important European funds to realize and organize the whole project.
The “anatomic stratification technique” and “chromatic chart” by Lorenzo
Vanini, recognized all over the world as 5 DIMENSIONS OF COLOUR
FOR CONSERVATIVE RESTORATION OF TOOTH, was documented by
Lorenzo Vanini in the book Conservative restorations of anterior teeth
(ACME editor - 2001).
These two topic of Lorenzo Vanini were included into European
universities programs (obligatory and facultative) thanks to Jules
Allemand Trophy.
This unique worldwide project was realized thanks to the contribution
of University “G. D’Annunzio” of Chieti, Italy in cooperation with
Departement of conservative dentistry and endodontics leaded by
prof. Camillo D’Arcangelo and Prof. Sergio Caputi. The university
hosts the Jules Allemand Trophy since many years for the final
selection event and since the beginning is awarding the winner with
3 months of stage at the university in the Department of conservative
dentistry and endodontics.
Nowadays Jules Allemand Trophy indicates the
participation of big number of European and Italian
universities which entered to the project in the past
years:

-Hungary - Kazakhstan - Latvia - Lithuania
- Poland - Portugal - Romania - Russia - Slovakia

- Napoli - Palermo - Parma - Pavia - Pisa
- Sassari - Torino.
Unique sponsor of the project is Micerium S.p.A
which is supporting since the beginning all the
activities making possible it’s continuity.
Jules Allemand Trophy is continuing to grow
exponentially giving attention especially to the
value of sane principals of competition linked to
professionalism underlining the importance of
friendship between different cultures starting
from the world of University.

During the semester at least two theoretic lessons about anatomic stratification
technique according Lorenzo Vanini will be held for all the students. Each University
will receive all the necessary informations (brochures, chromatic charts, DVD of Dr.
Vanini).
At least three-four practical courses for selected/interested students will follow.
University will receive the material (Enamel Plus HRi system) necessary for this
purpose. During these courses the evaluation will be done by the internal staff and
the best student will be chosen, in consideration of knowledge and practical per-
formance.

1° PHASE
UNIVERSITY SELECTION
In cooperation with local distributor will be organized national championship day
where the winner of each university (competing in the country) will participate. A half
day hands-on will be organized and the best work will be evaluated by opinion leader
of the country together with the winner of previous year. Tutors are also admitted.
The Meeting will be fixed in the period between 10-04-2020 and 10-05-2020.
The name of the national best student has to be communicated within 13th
May 2020
with all the details to jules.allemand.trophy@gmail.com.

The winner of the country is invited together with his tutor to participate.
Important note: The student is allowed to win only once.
Evaluation of works will be made by Prof. Camillo D’Arcangelo with his team (www.unidso.it)
and Dr. Lorenzo Vanini, following the criteria of evaluation.
The expenses of the transport, the hotel and refreshment for all participants will be covered
by Sponsor.
Note. All the information concerning the devices to bring for the competition will be communicated within

PRIZE FOR THE WINNER
The winner has the opportunity to be admitted for 3 months stage
at the Chieti University, in the department of Oral Science,
Restorative Dentistry Section.
The cost of transport and accommodation in Chieti, Italy will be
covered by Sponsor.
During the stage the participant will have the possibility to visit for
2 days the laboratory of Daniele Rondoni in Savona as visitor.
